Day 21 Of Your Transformation From Professional To Network Marketer
You didn’t follow or read my earlier articles about starting off slow in your network marketing business did you? I know you found that you had extra time so you thought you would try another strategy. Now you have leads coming in and you can’t get to them because you have no time. The pressure is building and you are feeling overwhelmed. You reach this phase about Day 21. You are not Superman. You have to stop and look at your business and the tasks you are doing. Three things you need to do right now: find out what is working for you (getting leads), delegate all the tasks you can and eliminate all non-money related task.
You can’t do it all; you must focus on what is working right now for you. You did not take my advice in earlier articles and stick to one or two marketing strategies. I know you are a professional and you can do more than most. But what you found out is that all the strategies start off slow but build each day until they over whelm you. The extra time you have in the beginning will be the time you need to call your leads. If you fill it with the tasks you are doing for your marketing you will not call your leads and that is the single most important task you can do to go your business. Step back and analyze what two strategies are working for you and focus on those them. That is where your time should be focused and your free time can be used to call leads. Now don’t just drop the other strategies you were doing. This is where you can delegate those tasks to a personal or virtual assistant.
One task you have had to perfect, in your professional life, is delegating to others. You need to do the same with your marketing. You do not have to do it all yourself. Delegate to a personal assistant (PA) or a virtual assistant (VA). You know what a PA is but may not know what a VA is. A VA is someone who is in a remote location that can do any task that requires a phone or an Internet connection. Jot down all the steps in your task and then give it to the PA or VA. After all the layoffs I had to do (including myself) in my own company, I prefer the VA option because you do not have someone in your office full time and you can stop at any time work gets slow. Though we do not plan for failure. Be very clear on your steps, objectives and the results you expect with the PA or VA. This will help you open up another front on your marketing battle. This will certainly reduce your distractions.
You have had many distractions without even knowing what they are. Eliminating all distractions means anything that keeps you from make calls to your leads. You have worked and paid good money for those leads. The final push in growing your business will be making contact with each one to gauge how serious they are in being successful in MLM marketing. You will hide behind your work for marketing. That is a big distraction and easy to justify. Yes, you need to do marketing to get leads but not so much that you can’t call them or get in touch with them. You can lose yourself in sending out targeted emails or recording a video for your article or blog post – all great stuff but the end results is the lead. Like we said above eliminate the distraction or delegate it. You primary goal is to grow your downline and only you care most about that part of the business.
So when you find yourself in overwhelm, stop and assess your marketing plan and results, delegate everything that takes your time from making calls and eliminate all other distraction over marketing, emails, phone calls. Don’t forget to Timeblock your week to help focus on money making task. Doing all these things will help you make more money.
